Born in small town Indiana, raised on a farm filled with family, faith and food - I come from a long line of strong women who knew their way around a biscuit bowl and a Sunday supper table. My love for baking is rooted in those kitchens-where cast iron sang, flour dusted the windowsills and recipes were passed down like prayers. I learned early that food is more than nourishment - it's connection. I carry forward their legacy - baking with my hands, my heart, and the same kind of soul that once filled those kitchens of my grandmothers, aunts, and great grandmother(Granny), who ran a restaurant of her own. Every boule, bagel, hand pie and spread is made with intention and a reverence for the past. I use slow-fermented sourdough, local ingredients, and time-honored techniques to craft bakes that feel honest, nourishing, and a little nostalgic.
Baker, master ochestrator of joy, farm girl at heart, and founder of Rising Sun Bread Co.
This bakery isn't just business - it's a tribute. A return to roots. A celebration of the old ways, preserved and passed on through every bite.
Thank you for coming to the table. You are always welcome!!
Hand Pies featuring seasonal produce from the Garden State. I believe in slowing down, real butter, flaky crusts and second helpings. Making room at the table for grief, for joy, for everyone and everything. That's the legacy that I want to create. Honoring the old ways because they're sacred, not outdated.
